Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) is now accepting submissions for its 10th edition scheduled to run March 10-13, 2023, in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Made up of three main sections, the festival features a competition (open to works previously unreleased in Japan for commercial purposes), the Anime of the Year (targeted at works previously released or broadcast in Japan for commercial purposes), and the Achievement Award (designed to recognize significant contributions to the animation industry). The event also offers screenings and special events.
Submissions are now being accepted in two categories:
- Deadline for submission is October 31, 2022.
- Regulations for Short Animation are available here.
- Deadline for submission is November 10, 2022.
- Regulations for Feature Animation are available here.
The stated aim of TAAF2023 is to “collate and screen high-quality animated films of superior originality, provide excitement and inspiration to the audience as well as creators, cultivate new talent, and contribute to the development and promotion of animation culture and industry.”
